MODULE 09 · BUSINESS CASE

Applied practice — Working Under Direct Guidance

Scenario

The learner is given a short, realistic scenario containing a genuine ambiguity, for example, a stakeholder request that could reasonably be read two different ways, or a task with an instruction that seems to conflict with something learned earlier.

Required reasoning: Identify the specific ambiguity, generate at least two reasonable interpretations or options, and form a tentative recommendation for which is more likely correct.

Required output: A written question addressed to a supervisor, following the well-formed question template — the specific issue, the options considered, and a recommendation.

Q1. Work through the reasoning this task requires of you. What do you conclude, and what remains uncertain?

Q2. Draft the required output. Write it as you would hand it to a senior OFA.

Q3. Assess your own draft: where is it strong, and where could a mentor reasonably push back?
