MODULE PURPOSE

A.

Guidance-Seeking Judgment and Escalation Etiquette

  • 1.To give the fifth OFA 1 core behavior, working under direct guidance, the same depth of treatment as the other four.
  • 2.To build the specific skills of guidance-seeking judgment, well-formed questions, and escalation etiquette that make direct guidance work well for both the learner and their mentor.

Guidance-Seeking Calibration

The learner can distinguish appropriate guidance-seeking from both over-asking and under-asking.

Well-Formed Questions

The learner can bring a well-formed question to a supervisor or mentor rather than an open-ended one.

The learner can escalate an issue in a way that respects both the problem and the person receiving it.

Readiness Recognition

The learner can recognize the signals that indicate growing readiness for more independence.
